Pointe-Claire is an independent, officially bilingual city on the West Island, reconstituted in 2006, with a historic village core on Lake Saint-Louis that includes the 1714 Saint-Joachim church site and a landmark windmill. Three Exo commuter-rail stations — Pointe-Claire, Valois and Cedar Park — serve the city, and two REM stations (Fairview–Pointe-Claire and Des Sources) are slated to open in 2026.
